Antique Draughtsman's Desk, Library table, Lectern c.1890(Ref: 343)
C.1890 Draughtsman's desk or Lectern/Reading table.
All angles possible due to the crazily over engineered, last forever workmanship.
Bearing the stamp of Wincycle Manufacturing Co Ltd of Saffron Hill. LONDON. Patent No: 3340
(Also responsible for the Paragon Folding Side Car... And Motorbikes! Hence the engineering prowess and design)
The mechanics underneath allow you twist and turn this to whatever position you please. It comes with 2 original clips to hold books or paper in place. There is a holding bar that can be adjusted, also for holding down paper.
Length of desk surface - 91cm
Width of desk surface - 46cm
Height - adjustable
The height can also be adjusted as you wish - you could even stand and use it comfortably.
It is in original condition. Nothing has been altered, it has only been cleaned and polished so all the age and patina is still all there on the oak veneer surface, just not the dust.
I have seen only one or two in original condition such as this - this item is rare and there is only one of them. I would be surprised if we ever come across another.
