Antique Wool Weighing Scales(Ref: )
Antique wool weighing scales with brass measure encased in wrought iron frame and wrought iron hooks. Originally used to weigh large sacks of wool or smaller sacks back when wool was currency. However, the Government ruled them to be illegal because they were ‘inaccurate’, which led to most of them being destroyed. Hence, this is a rare and beautiful thing! And has come home to Axbridge, a Medieval town would have traded heavily in wool.
