Chinese porcelain good luck charms
Qty |
A delightful set of little Chinese good luck charms, circa 1950. There are 7 all together and when placed next to each other, all appear to be in happy conversation!
They Gods of longevity, prosperity, health and happiness. They were probably kept in pockets or on string - small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. There were herbs inside one of them - I am guessing there is some symbolic meaning of abundance, good harvest or maybe to ward away evil spirits. Who knows, I guess their future meaning will be decided by you.
They are painted and glazed to the outside and unglazed inside. There is a tiny hole on each side by the ears, maybe for threading?
Individual purchases are considered, however, they do sit nicely as a set.
Approximately 5cm in height and 1cm in diameter.
